(New Video Post) Beauty Dare! Do Something That Scares You #SelfLoveSaturday

Happy Self Love Saturday!

In this video I discuss taking a leap in beauty by doing something that you’ve always wanted to do that scares you. I recently cut my hair and I’m learning how much people value hair, especially when you had long hair. Most of the responses I’ve gotten have been simply “why?” As if my hair will never grow back again lol. I cut my hair 1. Because I wanted to and 2. Because I no longer wanted to hold on to the fear that I’m only pretty with long hair or straight hair or curly hair or whatever other fears and insecurities I was putting onto myself. Beauty is all about the way you feel and I truly feel like there’s nothing on the outside that should make you feel more beautiful than you already do on the inside. I cut my hair to strengthen my own sense of beauty but having to push myself to rely on just ME and not my hair.

Whether it’s cutting your hair or changing your style whatever it is, try something that scares you! Test your own limits and rediscover what beauty is for you when you are no longer in your comfort zone.

Happy Self Love Saturday!

A lot of you had questions about friendships on my last video so I tried my best to cover everything from how to meet friends in your early 20’s, losing friends on your self love journey, and what to do when you need to cut off your friendships all in one video.

On my self love journey over the last few years, I’ve had a lot of change with my friendships. I’ve gained amazing friendships that have helped me to grow and become the woman that I am today and I’ve lost friends who were no longer on the same path as me. But all of it has been with a greater purpose and I always trust that I am around the right people at the right time. Check out my video below on what I have learned about gaining and losing friends.

(New Post) Love Actually By @karynrosebruyning #BeyondComplicated

We’re all just trying to figure it out. That’s it. Even those of us who seem to know what we’re doing only get to be so smart, after falling on our a face a few times (or in my case a TON of times).

These are the facts:

The key to a having a healthy, adult relationship is taking a minute to examine all the shit you did wrong in your last one, making the necessary adjustments, and doing better. Don’t bring any of your old baggage into your new thing. Simple as that.  Simple. As. That. What a phrase!

Here’s the thing though, being honest with yourself about who you are , why you did what you did, and why you do what you do is hard (as hell). Even more so when you’d prefer to believe that your failed relationship was ALL the other person’s fault. In reality, it’s never all on one person. If all you did wrong was ignore you intuition, then you did indeed assisted someone in getting to hurt (you).

Let’s say you know exactly what kind of crazy you are and have completely made your peace with it (as you should or be working to be better). The question then becomes are you honest with the other person? Did you walk in and tell/show them all of who you are and what that means? If the answer is NO, what you’ve done is successfully aided in making things harder for yourself and without questions setting you relationship up for more drama than necessary. You can’t be mad that this person made you steak if you never said you were a vegetarian and pretending to like steak when you hate it isn’t the right move either.

In our new web series, Andrea and I dig into how and why it all goes left in love. Love is never easy, but surely it doesn’t have to be this hard…BEYOND COMPLICATED

(New Video Post) Don’t Make It Complicated – Be Honest #SelfLoveSaturday

Happy Self Love Saturday!

Today’s message is inspired by my upcoming series Beyond Complicated which drops this Wednesday March 9th on my youtube channel! Woop! In Beyond Complicated we explore the simple miscommunications that happen within relationships when we are not fully honest with our thoughts and intentions and needs. One of the most important things I’ve learned on my self love journey is just be honest, with my self and with others, especially anyone that I am in an intimate relationship with. It makes life a whole lot simpler when I’m honest with how I feel and everything that is on my heart is understood. Check out the video and be on the look out for Beyond Complicated!

Beyond Complicated is a show about the difficulties and day to day miscommunications that happen in a relationship. Each episode shows both the male and female lead’s perspective on their situation.  This is the 2nd scripted web series from my production company Jungle Wild and I was inspired to create from my girl friends and our own real life conversations about guys and how and why the sexes usually don’t understand each other. I am so proud of this show, the cast, and my awesome NY crew for helping me to produce another show! On March 9th be ready to join the conversation, pick a side and learn a little something about the complications of being in a relationship.
