(New Video Post) Start A Gratitude Journal #SelfLoveSaturday

Hey guys, Happy Self Love Saturday!

I’m putting out a new challenge to you guys to help you find a little self love during the month of love, and it is to start  ” A Gratitude Journal”. It’s simple all you have to do is write down one thing that you’re grateful for every single day, it could be anything at all, the simpler the better. Expressing gratitude is one of the easiest ways to feel better about yourself, your life and who you are as a person which is all ultimately self love! I’m going to be doing this every day for the rest of the month and I suggest that you do to and just see how great you feel! #SelfLove

(New Post) Round Table Discussion: Black TV w/ @issarae @hillmangrad @MissNuma @AshleyBlaine

A few months ago I had the pleasure of speaking with Issa Rae, Numa Perrier, Lena Waithe and Ashley Blaine Featherson about the state of Black TV and how black women are portrayed in contemporary media. All of these women are making some serious moves in the film and web world and I admire their hustle and respect for arts and all of them dropped some gems for how they reached their own success and how we can find a solution for making the “average black woman” a mainstream staple. Join in to the discussion below.

(New Music Post) Love Song of the Day – “What You Won’t Do For Love” by Bobby Caldwell

It’s the month of love and I’m excited about it!

February is a good time to celebrate a lot of things, Black History , Women’s Empowerment and most importantly LOVE . Since I’m a music head I’m celebrating the month of love with music because some of the best songs are love songs! Today I’m posting a classic from Bobby Caldwell, “What You Won’t Do For Love”, enjoy!

Lyrics

I guess you wonder where I’ve been
I searched to find a love within
I came back to let you know
Got a thing for you and I can’t let go

My friends wonder what is wrong with me
Well I’m in a daze from your love, you see
I came back to let you know
Got a thing for you and I can’t let go

Some people go around the world for love
But they may never find what they dream of
What you won’t do, do for love
You’ve tried everything but you don’t give up
In my world only you makes me do
For love what I would not do

But then I only want the best it’s true
They can’t believe the things I do for you
What you won’t do, do for love
You’ve tried everything but you don’t give up
In my world, only you makes me do
For love what I would not do
Makes me do for love what I would not do

(New Video Post) “How To Stop Worrying…” Quick Book Review #SelfLove

Hey guys!

When I was in Jamaica I started reading the book “How to Stop Worrying and Start Living” by Dale Carnegie and I haven’t finished yet but I had to start talking about it because I LOVE IT! It’s so good and has so many amazing tips for living a better life in every way! This book is truly brining me joy and I had to share a few of the great tips that Mr. Carnegie mentions in this book that are helpful for everything including how to stop worrying. Check out the video below and happy #selflove Saturday

1. Let’s fill our minds with thoughts of peace, courage, health and hope, for “our life is what our thoughts make it”

2. Let’s never try to get even with our enemies, because if we do we will hurt ourselves far more than we hurt them.

3. Count your blessings not your troubles!

4. Let’s not imitate others. Let’s find ourselves and be ourselves, for “envy is ignorance” and “imitation is suicide”.

5. When fate hands you lemons lets make lemonade

6. Let’s forget our own unhappiness —by trying to create a little happiness for others. “When you are good to others, you are best to yourself.”
