Today’s message is simple: “Take More Adventures”. This has been my theme for the year because I simply want to live life with more FUN. I decided at the beginning the year that I wanted to experience and be inspired by as much as possible and in order to do that I needed to take more adventures. It didn’t always have to be something big and elaborate, it could simply be taking a different route home or talking to someone I wouldn’t normally speak to. Happy Self Love Saturday!

Hey guys, sorry I’ve been M.I.A over the last few weeks but I’ve been working, learning,  living and gaining more inspiration for the next level of my self love journey. Over the last few months I’ve been feeling more and more like my life is in a transition into a new chapter, everything I’ve done has been pushing me to make stronger decisions, take more risks and to go with my gut on decisions that have been lingering on my heart. It’s a good time but its scary too.

Being on my self love journey has allowed me to recognize when life is trying to teach me something and peel back another layer on who I am as a woman. Like I said it’s a good time but it’s very scary as well, but I realize that if it doesn’t scare you than it’s not worth it. So the best thing to do is embrace that fear, hold on tight and trust that you’re going to be glad you did it because you’re growing into something better! How are you guys doing? Today I want to introduce you to my friends Iman N. Milner and Sam Benta, two wonderfully talented actor/writer/producers who I’m working on a new show with for Jungle Wild Productions (can’t wait to share it with you guys). We recently spent a lovely Saturday doing taking promo pics and talking about #SelfLove so naturally I hade to share.

Sam spoke “self reflection” and the importance of being honest about your way of life and the choices you’re making and if it truly reflects self love. This is something I’m constantly anaylzing about myself because I believe that if you want to live a successful life, than everything in your life should be pointing in that direction. Iman spoke about “setting boundaries” and not tolerating unnecessary B.S in your life from anyone! When you get to a good place in your self love journey these boundaries are very easy to make because it’s not about hurting anyones feelings but rather protecting yourself from bad energies, vibes and people. I loved both of Sam and Iman’s thoughts on self love and I can’t wait to share with guys our soon to be awesome new web series! Today I want to talk to you about cherishing the moment while dating! This is something that I find very challenging because I love to day dream, especially when I have crush lol. But I try my best to live in the moment on a day to day basis, so I need to put the same effort into my “dating life”. It’s a work in progress but I find living in the moment helps you to focus on what’s important and not get anxiety, stress, mood changes and a lot more. Last weekend I was apart of The American Black Film Festival, speaking on the web series panel and my series Black Actress was apart of the web series competition and I had the most amazing time the entire weekend! The ABFF honored Jenifer Lewis with a lifetime achievement award and she gave the speech of a lifetime which inspired me to talk about a few things in today’s Self Love Video. Hey guys today I want to talk to you about focus and the importance of staying focused when you’re dealing with a lot of BS and crazy stuff. Over the past month I’ve had a lot of tests and had to deal with a bunch of unexpected foolishness. But honestly I’ve been able to keep my focus because at the end of the day I’m after a certain level of success and so as much as the little bumps in my journey are annoying, I’m able to deal with them because I’m focused on the big picture. Hey guys, how are you? Today I want to talk to you about being your own self motivator aka your own coach! A lot of people ask me how and why I started my self love journey and it was simply because I wanted to live a better life and do more for myself. I knew that the only person who was going to get me to that place was ME so I became my own coach! I focused on positive changes, growth, love and relying solely on myself instead of other people. Prior to this I spent my life blaming outside factors and other people for my problems and mishaps and it got me nowhere, I didn’t want to do this anymore. When I think of what made me decide and feel confident in owning my creativity, it all starts with Self Love. With this journey I was able to commit to creating a vision board, making a plan, having discipline for my craft and career and being shameless with my self promotion. All of these things came about with commiting to self love and I was able to own who I am, what I do and where I plan to go! How are you guys doing? Today I want to talk with you guys about 5 tips to deal with stress and worrying. I have been feeling very stressed and worried lately because I have a lot on my plate and some of it is going really well and other parts could definitely improve. But because I have enough self awareness and I’ve been on my self love journey for a little while now I understand how to deal and relieve my stress and worry with a few tips that I have picked up a long the way that I want to share with you guys. 1. Find Room to Breathe: Take a minute to shut everything off, including your brain. Breathe, close your eyes and be still for as long as you can to clear your head.
2. Exercise: Physical activity of any level will help to relieve any tension and stress and put you in a better mood:

3. Worst Case Scenario: Think about the worst case scenario and then create the solution! Once you have this figured out, it will ease your mind and you will feel prepared for anything.

4. Talk About It: Talk about your problems with a friend, share how you feel and let someone give you their prespective. If you’re really not comfortable sharing then write it out, this is a great help too.
5. Music: Music is an amazing way to lift your mood and relax your mind and body. I put on music for everything and it helps me when I need to gain energy.
