(New Video) Confidence, Risk & It Gets Better #SelfLoveSaturday

Happy Self Love Saturday!

Hey guys, today I want to talk about gaining confidence through self love, taking risks and how it gets waaay better if you stick to the path. I’ve been on my self love journey for a while now and I’m genuinely a much more confident person now in my abilities, purpose and womanhood. This confidence has allowed me to want to take more risks and to be confident in my outcome, because either way I’m going to win or I’m going to learn. So this video is a quick reminder to anyone that has been on this journey with me or just started their self love journey that it gets better! Stick to it, keep trying even on days when it’s hard because it eventually gets better. Check out my video below, and my kickstarter campaign for Jungle Wild and donate!

Hey guys,
I’d like to introduce you to my production company Jungle Wild. Jungle Wild is a new model entertainment company started by myself and Brian Walker, and features a collective of young, experienced, content creators who are focused on producing original television, film, and digital content that showcases women, people of color, and the LGBT community. Our goal is to continue to produce and distribute our current hit series, Black Actress, and produce and distribute 3 new series by the end of 2015 on the Andrea Lewis Youtube Channel. We’ve already developed the concepts and over the next few weeks, we will release sample video content for the series.
We are currently raising money for Jungle Wild on Kickstarter and we are asking for your help to reach our goal of 30K. Our team and much of our cast for the series are already confirmed and are just waiting for our shooting dates. They are eager to show the world that casts with a diversity of characters, both in front of the camera and behind, create the best entertainment. In 2015, we would also like to begin developing our first independent feature. So with your help, we can reach our goal and create opportunities for other diverse content creators to produce and showcase their work as well.
Please check out the video and link below and donate to our campaign and help us to bring diversity to Hollywood and change the world.

Happy “New Episode of Black Actress” Day. Today’s episode features the beautiful Garcelle Beauvias from “The Jamie Foxx Show” “Wild Wild West” “Grimm” “The Mentalist” and countless other shows and films. We each have our own path and what’s for you will be for you.

In this episode we see Kori deal with the competitve and sometimes nasty nature of the business and how to deal with Frenemies. Check out the episode below and as well our kickstarter campaign for Jungle Wild Productions, help us to raise 30K to go towards Black Actress and the other projects that we have slated for this year.

(New Video) Black Canadians in Pop Culture w/ @CTVCanadaAM

Screen Shot 2015-02-17 at 9.10.16 AM

This morning I had the pleasure of being apart of a panel with Canadian Music Mogul & Vice president of Feva TV Farley Flex and Celebrity Manager & Boss Lady Marina Phillips on CTV News. For those of you who are not Canadian, CTV is one of the largest networks in Canada and used to be my old stomping grounds when I was on Degrassi.

As a part of Black History Month they brought up the very important topic of diversity in pop culture on Canadian Television and if Canada is doing a fair job of reflecting the true diversity of our country. Stats show that 87% of Canadian TV is White and frankly that’s absurd! I grew up on TV in Canada and I always felt fortunate to be the representation for people of color because the opportunities for us are few. I’ve lived in the US for many years and people are always shocked when I tell them that we don’t have a Canadian version of BET or our own NAACP awards or Black Canadian Essence Magazine, so as a person of Color you truly have to fight to have your story told. Toronto is one of the most progressive and beautiful cities to live in and be apart of but when it comes to our Entertainment Industry and the reflection of seeing faces that look like mine and friends we still have a lot of room to improve. I’m glad that CTV brought up the importance of this ongoing discussion and that I could be apart of it  and I hope to continue to make a change in Canada and for people of Color on Televsion. (New Video) Letting Go of Grudges #SelfLove

url

I told myself in 2015 I was no longer going to hold on to any past grudges, hurt and ill feelings towards people and circumstances that I can’t change. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason and as much as some situation suck to go through, I needed to experience them in order to grow.

Holding on to a grudge, whether I realize I’m doing it or not can effect me more than the situation itself, simply because I’m allowing it to brew inside of me by going over the woulda/shoula/coulda of the situation. I’m sick of feeling this way so I decided that this year I was going to be honest with my feelings and say how I feel in the moment or write it out in a letter and get rid of it simply to be able to release my pent up feelings and not create a ball of negativity inside of me. Doing this has helped me a lot to get rid of some of the grudges that I’ve been holding on to and to be honest with myself and the other person about how I feel. Check out my video below on the importance of letting go of grudges.

(New Video) “Embrace Change, Be Malleable” #SelfLoveSaturday

learn-embrace-change--large-msg-138996445959

Happy Self Love Saturday!

How are you doing? Today I want to talk to you about embracing change and being malleable to God’s plan. My theme for this year is “change” and I’m doing a lot of things to bring change into my life but at the same time I’m learning that I have to let go of control and just let some changes come naturally. In doing this I have to be malleable to God’s plans for me and I can’t try and predict and hold on to everything in my life because some changes are supposed to come in their own time. Check out my video below on why it’s important to me to embrace change and let go of control.
