(New Video Post) One Year Anniversary – Goal Updates!

Hey guys, guess what? It’s my One Year Anniversary of my youtube channel! Woop!

I’m really excited for the growth of my channel and being able to share my journey with you guys over the past year. I was really nervous to start a youtube channel because I knew I didn’t want to have a typical youtube channel. I wasn’t planning to do comedy sketches and makeup or hair tutorials instead I wanted to talk about Self Love and share tips of the lessons I’m learning in my career, share my goals and keep it as positive as possible, and hope to find the right audience to share my journey with. One year later, I have a growing channel with an amazing audience of positive, like minded people and I love it!

I started my channel with a list of my goals. It was a long list with some goals that I knew would be a couple years in the making but I needed to start them now and others that were simple wishes and others that were written as a reminder to keep me focused, and one year later I’m a quarter of the way complete, woop!  Some of the things I accomplished were creating and completing “Black Actress”, meeting the amazing stylist and super woman June Ambrose, who is one of my role models. Focusing on my health, starting my own production company, working on an album, going on a vacation, feeling more confident in myself, shooting a movie and much more!

So what am I doing now? I’ve added more goals to the list and continuing to work on the ones that haven’t been accomplished yet. I’m going to keep growing my channel, and talking about Self Love, I’m working on a Self Love Book, and I have a tank top coming out for the summer! I’m releasing an album and working on season 2 of “Black Actress”. Enhancing my health, and doing more travel for work and play!  So it’s going to be a good year! I hope you guys are accomplishing your goals, working on yourself and pursuing your dreams! Thank you for the love and support and don’t forget to subscribe youtube.com/andrealewischannel

(New Video Post) “Trust The Journey & Let Your Intuition Guide You” #SelfLove

Hey guys, Happy Self Love Saturday!

Today I want to talk with you about trusting your journey and letting your intuition guide you. One of my favorite things to do is reflect on my journey either by myself or with my mom since she’s been with me through all of it. We love to talk about all of the people we’ve met, good and bad and the places we’ve traveled to, the risks we’ve taken and so much more. We always point out that no matter how a situation or opportunity turned out it lead us to the next step, and whether it was a lesson learned or gaining some kind of achievement to add to the resume it all did something and it was all for a reason. It took me a very long time before I realized how important every single piece of the journey was and that no matter how fast or slow my life seemed to be moving that I need to experience everything that I had gone through to get me to this place in my life and to prepare me for what is to come. Trusting the journey is so important, learning to let go and just enjoy it is a lot easier said than done but when you do, you see why you had to.

Along with learning to trust my journey, I had to learn to listen to my intuition a lot more and let it be my guiding voice. When you listen to your intuition you realize it has your back! There’s a reason why it keeps talking to you in the back of your mind or pricks you in your stomach until you respond, it’s telling and showing you something before you realize it! I have many situations from when I was younger that my intuition was trying to give me a message and I just ignored it for whatever reason and looking back on it now I wish I didn’t because I probably could’ve avoided a lot of messy situations. Now I listen to my intuition loud and clear, if it doesn’t feel right I don’t do it! And if it feels right and genuine to me than I fight for it! Your intuition is the real you talking, so listen to it carefully! Check out this video below of why I think Trusting Your Journey and Letting Your Intuition Guide You is very important for Self love!

Happy Self Love Saturday!

(New Video Post) “Consistency is Key” #WeeklyMemo

Hey guys!

A very simple lesson that I’ve been reflecting on lately is the importance of consistency with your work and service. When you consistently produce good work a lot can change for you. People learn to take you seriously, they respect you and they value you and what you do! Consistency is key for allowing your work to move you forward, and in order to do that you have to consistently work on it, improve it and produce it! In this video I give a small shout out to my favorite restaurant in Brooklyn, Madiba and their excellent and consistent service, that keeps me a very happy customer! So here’s a friendly reminder for you this week, consistency is key!

(New Video Post) “Let’s Talk About Mental Health” #SelfLoveSaturday

Hey guys! Happy Self Love Saturday!

Today I want to focus on a topic that is very important to me and it’s mental health. The reason I stress “self love” so much is because it starts with having a healthy mentality for yourself and your life and not only is this important for your overall success but as well your happiness and quality of life.

I wasn’t always in a good mental place, I used to be very depressed and unhappy with my life and who I was. It always felt like nothing worked out for me and everyone was against me. I would easily feel very anxious and uncomfortable and I was truly my own worst enemy. I was fortunate though to have one very slight moment of clarity where I finally felt tired of feeling the way that I did. I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do or where to go but I just knew that I didn’t want to feel this way any more and so I started slowly to take steps to move out of this head space and into a place that was healthy and where I could find confidence in myself and my life and learn to take it day by day. This was the beginning of my self love journey and now looking back on where I was I wish so badly that I was able to talk to someone about how I felt, instead of just trying to sweep it under the rug all of the time and put on a front like as if everything was okay. I never voiced how I felt and never gave anyone a reason to suspect that maybe something was wrong. When I heard about the death of Karyn Washington, the founder of “For Brown Girls” it made me think of my own battle with depression and how from the outside looking in, Karyn made life look like it was a breeze and it was all working out but clearly it wasn’t. I wished that I had more personal conversations with her and that I simply just asked her “if she was okay?”. I know what it’s like to put a mask on how you’re feeling but sometimes if someone just simply asked you “if you were okay?” you might not be able to hide it anymore. It’s a simple question but it could reveal so much about someone without you realizing.

Today on this Self Love Saturday, I’m asking you guys a simple favor, and it’s to have a conversation, face to face or on the phone with someone near to you and simply ask them how they feel? Whether its good or bad I think it’s so important to communicate with each other and have an honest and open dialogue with the people around you about what’s going on inside of you! Talking to someone can help so much, to calm you down, give you a new perspective on life or simply to just be an ear to listen. It’s a small gesture that can go a long way, so please find someone today and just talk to them. Let’s take the small steps it takes to bring awareness to mental illness.

Happy Self Love Saturday!

(New Post) May Fitness Challenge #MonthlyGoals

Happy May Day!

At the beginning of the year I made a plan for myself to set monthly goals and five months into the year I’m very happy that I’ve done that because my focus has been like a Ninja! Now that it’s May 1st, my goal this month is all about fitness, last month I focused on healthy eating and cleaning up my diet and now that summer is coming and I’m going to be doing some filming soon I have to step it up a notch. I try my best to exercise every day but I tend to be a creature of habit and I like to do the same thing all the time which is dance or go for a run with my weight vest and as fun as those exercises are for me, this month I’m stepping out of my comfort zone a bit and I’m going to do a daily fitness challenge! Check out the picture below that I got from WolfpackNutrition.com  which is a great site for personal training and nutrition plans. I like the May challenge that they’ve set up because it appears pretty simple but it’s not! Those Burpees will get you! LOL. I wanted to share it with you guys in case your need a little bit of fitness inspiration or a monthly goal reminder. And if you have been setting monthly goals for yourself this year, how do you like it? I’ll keep you posted on my fitness journey!

(New Post) Successful People vs Unsuccessful People

tumblr_n4g5n9hHZN1qgxlrio1_1280-1

I saw this picture last night on tumblr and I thought it was very interesting. The list of things that “successful people” do is very simple and necessary stuff to maintaining a sense of sanity. Looking at the “unsuccessful” list I can admit I watch TV everyday but that’s because I love the Food network and I unwind at the end of the night to Bobby Flay, but I’m not making any excuses! So looking at both lists how many things are you doing or not doing? And do you think this list is accurate for what it takes to be successful? Happy Hump Day!

(New Video Post) Self Analysis – Improve Yourself Weekly #SelfLove

Happy Self Love Saturday!

Today I want to let you guys know about a tip I do every weekend to help with my self improvement. I have a special notebook that I use to take the time to go over my week, I have an honest conversation with myself as to what worked and what didn’t, what I did well and where I could improve. With that information I make a plan for what I’m going to do next week to improve and I go from there. This is my weekly analysis and it has helped me a lot and I think it’ll help you too. The key to it, is being honest with yourself and also setting small goals and being determined to meet them. This has helped me to stay focused and to track my progress which I think is key to self improvement and overall success. Try doing a weekly analysis and see if it helps you to grow and improve in every area of your life! Happy Self Love Saturday!
