Happy Self Love Saturday!!
“Actions Speak Louder Than Words” is a common saying that we’ve all heard a trillion times, but this week I had a lesson in accepting it.
It seems simple but over the years I have had a hard time truly accepting the actions of others when it goes against my image of them or getting something I want. But this week I think I finally got it and then I realized the same goes for myself in terms of accountability, am I just talking the talk? Or am I walking the walk too?
Our words mean nothing if there’s no action to back it up and this week I had a lot of self reflection and questions for myself because there’s nothing louder than the volume of our actions. So ask your self, how often to point fingers in regards to your situation? What are you physically doing to change your situation and who in your life are you listening to in the wrong way? Listening to their words instead of their actions? Check out my video below and let me know how your week has been!
Happy Self Love Saturday!
This past week was a busy one for me, I had my Empowerment Weekend with 2 days of back to back events in Los Angeles! Day 1 was “The Black Women in Entertainment: Behind The Scenes” panel and networking event featuring Chika Chukudebelu (BET), Deniese Davis (Issa Rae Productions) & Karen Horne (NBC). These are all women that I admire and I’m inspired by so to have them on one panel talking about their experiences was life changing for me.
And Day 2 was The Self Love Tea Time featuring Keesha Sharp who I love with all of my heart for everything that she is! Both events were a fantastic success and exactly the reset that I needed for myself.
I’ve been feeling really down and stuck lately and I was worried that my energy was going to be low going into these events but instead these events helped to kick me out of my funk. I truly felt better, inspired, excited and a little more focused by the end of the weekend. Sometimes the lesson that we’re trying to teach others is actually the one we need for ourselves. Check out my latest Vlog below.

Hey guys!
I’ve started a new series on my youtube channel called “Fit & Frugal” Featuring my good friend Rob Vincent who plays Romeo on Black Actress. Rob is what I like to consider “a realistic fitness and health expert”. He’s really good at taking care of himself through healthy choices and giving advice to others on how to do it all on a budget so I just HAD to feature him on JungleWild Daily! Check out our first episode and expect more Episodes on Tuesdays of this month. Enjoy!
Happy Self Love Saturday!
Last Saturday (April 16th) I had a Self Love Tea Time, an intimate event with 20 ladies, centered around self love and an open and honest conversation about our fears, insecurities, past experiences, careers, friendships and everything else in between! We had cookies, cupcakes, sandwiches and most importantly TEA! This event was like a dream come true for me! I had envisioned it for so long and to see it come to life in this way, was just EVERYTHING! Big shout out to Essence Atkins for being my special guest, Baby Love Sweetery and Mama Auntie’s Vegan Desserts for providing us with their delicious treats and even bigger shoutout to all of the girls and their awesome energy for coming, speaking up and spreading love! I can’t wait to do the next one.
Happy Self Love Saturday!
In this video I discuss taking a leap in beauty by doing something that you’ve always wanted to do that scares you. I recently cut my hair and I’m learning how much people value hair, especially when you had long hair. Most of the responses I’ve gotten have been simply “why?” As if my hair will never grow back again lol. I cut my hair 1. Because I wanted to and 2. Because I no longer wanted to hold on to the fear that I’m only pretty with long hair or straight hair or curly hair or whatever other fears and insecurities I was putting onto myself. Beauty is all about the way you feel and I truly feel like there’s nothing on the outside that should make you feel more beautiful than you already do on the inside. I cut my hair to strengthen my own sense of beauty but having to push myself to rely on just ME and not my hair.
Whether it’s cutting your hair or changing your style whatever it is, try something that scares you! Test your own limits and rediscover what beauty is for you when you are no longer in your comfort zone.

Happy Self Love Saturday!
A lot of you had questions about friendships on my last video so I tried my best to cover everything from how to meet friends in your early 20’s, losing friends on your self love journey, and what to do when you need to cut off your friendships all in one video.
On my self love journey over the last few years, I’ve had a lot of change with my friendships. I’ve gained amazing friendships that have helped me to grow and become the woman that I am today and I’ve lost friends who were no longer on the same path as me. But all of it has been with a greater purpose and I always trust that I am around the right people at the right time. Check out my video below on what I have learned about gaining and losing friends.
